#WhatTrulyMatters A Much Needed Show

Wrestling Community Love

I Luv Wrestling, but What Truly Matters… I’ve been a wrestling fan for many many many years. I’ve been up and down roads. I have taken flights across the country all for my LUV of Wrestling. I’m blessed to say my LUV of Wrestling, I’ve seen almost every major promotion that one could think of from WWE, WCW, NWA, ROH, NJPW, and MLW. I always enjoyed the events, the matches that take place, being around the fans after the show. As of the last few years, I find myself enjoying connecting with my wrestling friends who have become more like family. Having that bond with people who share a similar background as you, can understand your stories, someone who you can relate to is priceless once you find that.

But this year, I was going to Wrestlemania, the show of all shows again. I was going to ringside for Double or Nothing, in Vegas for the second year, but due to the pandemic, that opportunity was taken away from myself and many fans..
This is the first year since 1997 that I haven’t been to an event in the first 6 months of the year. This past weekend on July 4th, the #WhatTrulyMatters show was worth the trip. Everybody loves the big fireworks, glitz and glam of what the big shows are, but this show put on by Alexander Moss and Sadie Lee Moss, made me more than satisfied. All proceeds of the show were donated to the Equal Justice Initiative, they are committed to ending mass incarceration

#WhatTrulyMatters WLW Push

This was a good show from start to finish. In 95 degree heat on 4th of July weekend, I watched wrestlers go out and put their bodies on the line for What Truly Matters. There were names on the show that I knew, Savannah Evans, Big Time Yah, Prolific, James D. Drake, TJ Boss, Gym Nasty Boys, and Montana Black. Then there were names, I was amazed I didn’t know, but won’t forget.
Wrestlers complained about the hotness of the match, highlighted by Big Time Yah, giving us entertainment about how hot the mat was in the first match against Labron Kozone. This was a good back and forth with Kazone coming out on top with the win. The next match was a Fatal 4 Way Elimination Match, with Keith Mac vs. Zuka King vs Snooty Fox vs James Johnson. The match started with Zuka King, being the heel antagonizing the crowd, threatening to hit people with a chair he took from seating. Then the music started playing and the Tik Tok craze dance, Go Go Go Who’s Next for Keith Mac and he began to dance and Snooty Fox joined in. It ended when James Johnson and Zuka King did not go next. This match everybody had some great moments, but this match was ultimately won by the man from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Snooty Fox. The event rolled on with two young men who have a bright future, Lucky Ali and Maurice Moss, the son of TGA Moss. Lucky Ali, was cocky in this match and felt disrespected facing, as he called him a “teenage kid”. This match they both showcased athletic moves and high flying action. As the match was picking up Cam Carter, who we will talk about more later, and his group, Bo Jack and Prince Mutima came out causing Maurice Moss to lose the match. Then Cam Carter and others attacked Maurice Moss, which was to get under the skin of TGA Moss for the main event match.
Later in the show, the Young Cannibal Savannah Evans faced off with Sadie Lee Moss, the woman of the house. Started off with Sadie Lee passing out cookies to the crowd. This match was an intense back and forth, both women giving their all in the ring, showing their strength and the back and forth. The only thing that threw this match off is the referee with a slow count any time Savannah Evans would go for a pin. Savannah Evans was fed up and walked out of the match and Sadie Lee gave the ref a piece of her mind. A different ref came in and advised the current to seat down and pay attention. After that was settled, Savannah Evans was able to pull off the hard fought victory, but Sadie Lee is a fierce competitor and put up a good figh
t. You can check the match below.

Savannah Evans vs Sadie Lee Moss Match

The next match saw two tag team partners go one on one. Jay Malachi and Jackson Drake, went out and put on a fight that you wouldn’t expect from partners. Hard fought, back and forth, they were holding nothing back. To start the match they were just feeling each other out, but as the match continued to go they held nothing back. Jay Malachi was able to win this match in the end, with a springboard cutter, but one has to wonder what this will do for their tag team dynamic.

The next match was a 4 Way Tag Team match featuring Prolific vs. Gym Nasty Boys vs. Montana Black and Patrick Scott vs Bo Jack and Prince Mutima. This match was non stop action from start to finish. The Gym Nasty Boys won this match. Prolific showed great tag team dynamic while agitating the other opponents the whole match. Montana Black is a MONSTER that is on the rise and his partner Patrick Scott can do some things that would shock you, big highlight when he hit Bo Jack with a spinebuster. Bo Jack and Prince Mutima are two people you should also look out for.

Fatal Four Way Tag team Match

James D. Drake and TJ Boss went against Colby Corino and his partner. They tried to take down Drake and Boss, but in the end the size was just too much for them.TGA Moss vs Cam Carter was the main event and after watching these two wrestle. I had to ask myself why I never heard these names. They talk the talk, they walk the walk and have the ability to be on any TV show out here, as well as everybody on the card. These two were fluent with their moves, and a match that could be on any programming, WWE Raw, Smackdown, AEW Dynamite or NXT. Carter was a heel and continued to try to wear down TGA Moss, but Moss never gave up, He Continued  to fight and remember why everyone was out there that day. TGA Moss, looked as if he was down and then the ring begin to become surrounded by wrestlers who were on the card as they hit the mat and chanted this is when the fight picked up even more. TGA was able to pull out the victory of this match, but this match left a lasting impression on me.

This whole show left a lasting impression on me. Not just that it was a show focusing on what is actually going on in the world today. But after the show and into the evening just being able to talk to some of the people on the card and hang out. Felt like a big family reunion. From a life long wrestling fan. Thank you TGA Moss and Sadie Lee Moss for this show. I felt like it was a show that was actually catered to things that I’m familiar with, but also had the universal appeal, that anyone can sit down and enjoy it. And at the end of the day that’s #WhatTrulyMatters
