Backlash is taking place this Saturday live from the Performance Center. WWE did not have a Backlash last year and in it’s place was the Saudi show. There were hopes that this card would have some gems in it but many fans on social media have shown dismay in the lead-up and the match ups that have been announced. With that being said, let’s take a look at the card for the night.

Jeff Hardy vs Sheamus: This feud had a lot of fans shaking their head. With the attacks on Jeff’s sobriety, WWE has once again taken real life issues and dragged them into the ring. Many fans were vocal about this being an angle that should not have been addressed again. Jeff has been attacked for his drinking habits more than we would like. However, what other build up did they have for these two. Sheamus looks to be the winner of this match solely on that he would not lose so early on after returning from an injury.

United States Championship-Apollo Crews vs Andrade: We are going to go with Apollo Crews retaining. Unfortunately, this will mean another lose for Andrade but there is no way they will take the title off Apollo with the fans having rallied behind him. I shouldn’t say they wouldn’t though…anything is possible but very unlikely.

Women’s Tag Team Championship-Bayley and Sasha (c) vs Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss vs The IIconics: Bayley and Sasha should be the obvious winners in this match up but with the inclusion of the IIconics its hard not to let the idea of them taking the titles off their hands like at Mania.

Raw Women’s Championship-Asuka (c) vs Nia Jax: With the issues surrounding Nia and the injuries and bumps that Kairi has taken in the last few weeks, I don’t see WWE taking the title of Asuka and giving it to Nia. I hope that Asuka retains for a decent amount of time…maybe the fall…..okay I know, I’m pushing it.

Universal Championship-Braun Strowman (c) vs. The Miz vs John Morrison: Not really sure what to say about this match. We have seen Braun destroy tag teams all on his own, and Miz and Morrison don’t pose a real threat to Braun at all. We all know that the Fiend is coming back for the title. When? We will have to just wait and see.

WWE Championship-Drew McIntyre (c) vs Bobby Lashley: Though the popular belief is McIntyre will retain, the fans are a buzzing to see Bobby Lashley with the belt. I don’t think the belt will change over. Doesn’t seem like the likely move even with the MVP push with Lashley.

The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever- Edge vs Randy Orton: The Mania match between these two was well played and it really elevated both wrestlers while sill giving Edge the “welcome back” that he deserved. The name of the match is a little off and seems it would have been something billed at the Saudi show that was inevitably canceled. With that said, it feels like Orton will lose this match giving each one a win and finishing off the feud, hopefully, at Summerslam with a rubber match with Edge coming out on top.

What are you must excited for this Sunday? I am looking forward to the Women’s Tag Match and Orton vs Edge.
